Mothership Monthly Update — August 2018
All the latest updates that happened in August 2018 at Mothership
August has marked another significant month for the Mothership team: we moved to a new office, had steady progress on Legal & Banking matters, teamed up with KPMG to ensure accurate historical trading data for accounting, improved Customer Success collaboration with the tech team and we are launching our new community platform this week!
Official office move
In the second half of August, the Mothership onsite team has gradually moved to our brand new office in the heart of Tallinn. The last of the team’s possessions was moved on Friday, 24 August 2018 and this marks the official closure of our ‘home’ for the last year.
While the new place still needs a little work, we are excited to be in this bright and airy office. Long gone are the days when we have to hold team meetings in small, unventilated rooms; we see it as the start of a new chapter!
Legal Updates
Regarding legal elements, our Head of Legal, Jaanus, has been working on developing the on-boarding solutions (Know You Customers process) for new individual users, or in legal terms, natural persons. The user experience design (UX) for this procedure is being fine-tuned by our in-house designer Pierre and will soon be implemented on the platform.
Jaanus has also finalized the on-boarding flow for legal persons, meaning companies, trusts and various other entities; and the implementation of this process will follow shortly after the above mentioned is concluded.
Teaming up to create useful accounting reports
To ensure our customers will be able to have access to ready-to-use accounting data when using the platform, we have partnered with KPMG, one of the Big Four, to advise us on how to output the numbers in the right way for accounting purposes.
KPMG will act as an advisor and equip us with the necessary knowledge to ensure that we can provide accounting data relevant to not only our customers’ trades, but also in compliant with applicable regulations.
This is still a work in progress, but we are confident that this collaboration will enable us to have users export data fit for accounting purposes and cater to our customers’ needs.
Customer Success
The CS team has thoroughly tested and improved the bug report procedure to be used more efficiently team-wide. This process includes trying out different tools and automations to get a robust but lean procedure; and it will helps us shorten the average bug processing time thus improve our inter-team communication. The end result will enable us to support our users in a swift manner while keeping our quality standards of customer relations.
The team has also started planning and testing tools for internal QA testing. Essentially, we are carrying out a full manual regression testing (at this point) for both our website and the exchange platform.
At the same time, we are evaluating automated tests to ensure everything, including User Flows and User Interface elements, will work as intended in all scenarios. Our goal is to create the foundation for our future QA efforts while providing a valuable opportunity for the CS team to learn about the product inside out.
We are confident that this will help in solving potential issues faster and equip the team with suitable knowledge to later inform our customers about different features available.
Mothership Lounge Launch
As we are nearing our launch, we started looking for a suitable platform to communicate with our growing community of customers, investors, fans & finance enthusiasts. While our Telegram chat has been a great channel for keeping in tune with our ICO investors & Mothership Traders, we have found it to be not the best foundation for (often asynchronous) discussions about the product, share feedback and discuss ideas on how to help you as a potential customer.
However, we do wholeheartedly believe in building an engaged community with whom we can be transparent, share raw ideas and work together on new features that we come up with. We hold strong reasons and beliefs as of why we are building Mothership, and helping people with their financial education and mindset towards money is one of those. That is why we would love to engage with you in discussions about investing / trading strategies, reiterate through features together that will help you reach your financial goals and discuss much more.
Therefore, we have decided to launch the Mothership Lounge — a community platform where you can dive into discussions with other Lounge passengers on various financial topics, discuss trading strategies, token projects & listings, our (upcoming) products and share your feedbacks.
From this week onwards, all official community communications will move to the Mothership Lounge, while our Telegram group will be used as casual community chat moderated by key community members. So, go ahead, create an account and join the discussion.
Q&A Livestream
Over the past month, you as community have raised a lot of questions on the exchange launch, listing process, the team’s progress, etc. We would love to take the opportunity to share with you the progress towards the exchange launch and answer all your questions.

To conclude
It is easy to lose track of time when you have plenty to do and we hardly believe that the last months of 2018 are already here. The next few months will be a very crucial period for the Mothership team to ensure we reach our goals and launch the exchange. August has been a good and productive month, and we are hopeful that September will bring us towards completing more of the key milestones.
